As of April 8th, 2014, Windows XP will no longer be supported by Microsoft.
What does this mean to you if you still use Windows XP? This does not mean that you MUST update your software, Windows XP will still work, but it does mean you may run into issues such as:
- There will be no new security updates, which means your outdated computer will be very vulnerable to virus infections.
- It also means you are being left behind in new web technologies. A computer running Windows XP can’t even load websites using these new technologies.
- There will be no new software drivers to run your hardware. This means that computer peripherals such as printers or cameras may not be able to function properly.
If you still run and love Windows XP, it might be a good time to start thinking about upgrading. We are happy to consult with you about your options!
